Scott gets his hands dirty. When it comes to getting a job done well, and getting it done fast, he’s in the shop. That’s because Scott is more than the owner of Ferguson Truck center, he’s a working mechanic at heart.
He’s been working on trucks since he was sixteen, training at Mobil, Stewart and Stevenson, South Loop Ford Trucks, and the Freightliner Dealership. Because of this experience, Scott has done every kind of commercial truck repair in the industry.

Scott’s in the details

That’s why Scott checks the work of the other mechanics. He’ll tell you, “I inspect the work of every mechanic, quizzing them on diagnoses and checking it out myself. When a mechanic says a truck needs a bi-valve kaniculator, an owner has to know what that is and if the truck really needs it. I don’t care about the effort. I care about the quality.” (Scott also insists you know there’s no such thing as a “bi-valve kaniculator.” He made it up to make a point.)
Most folks in commercial truck repair find the Ferguson Truck Center work ethic exhausting. Then again, most people don’t like working. We’re different. We take pride in our work. As Scott will tell you, “The way I see it, we have our choice of work in this world, so why do something you don’t like? I can honestly say there’s not a day when I get up hating my work.”

Team Ferguson

As owner of Ferguson Truck Center, Scott makes sure his fellow mechanics feel the same way. That’s why, despite Scott’s high standards, his mechanics never leave. Take Pete and Mike, for example. Scott’s right and left hand men, have been with him for a collected twenty-two years.
In the end, Ferguson Truck Center bases its commercial truck repair on three industry principles: accurate diagnoses, quick turnaround, and lasting repairs. Beyond these principles, Scott doesn’t get involved. “Customers across the board may not all love me, but they all have confidence in me. They know I’d rather do a good job and earn their business than get it just because they like me.”
